EXCELLENT Flawless performance, not as matte as photo

EXCELLENT. Mechanically flawless, and great writing instrument. The 1.4 lead size is a bit more stout than my preferred 1.15 leads, but great for general writing for a heavier touch or for a heavier line or if you just want a pencil with a virtually unbreakable lead. The E-Motion design is a gorgeous modern design. Classic modern. I love the appearance. I am personally disappointed in the Pure Silver because it is shinier than in the photo... SATIN not MATTE, and as a result it is more slippery in my hand and cold to the touch when I pick it up than I expected. I prefer the "Crock" version (like the Parquet on Fahrney's), which I already owned, and have debated returning the silver though likely will keep it . One advantage is the Pure Silver gets NO fingerprints. The barrel is scored to provide a grip, but it is still too smooth for my preference. Both the wood and the Parquet have better grip and I personally like the Parquet best. Wood: too rough. Pure Silver: too slippery. My husband LOVES the all-black E-Motion which is identical to the Pure Silver. That is HIS favorite writing instrument above ALL other pens and pencils. I am female with large hands. I think this pencil may be better for medium to large hands. Retro 51 is my other "favorite" mechanical pencil. I prefer the larger 1.15 and 1.4 lead sizes because they do not break and the writing is clearly visible. I like the wider barrels of Retro 51 and Faber Castell E-Motion, though I use narrower barreled 2mm mechanical pencils when traveling, for lighter weight and in case I lose one.
